Furniture Village was preparing to conduct User Acceptance Testing for critical business processes supported by Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Before testing began, the organisation needed to confirm that its Day-in-the-Life scenarios accurately represented real business operations, aligned with the approved Service Architecture and provided sufficient coverage across key functional areas.
C2S Technologies was engaged to independently review the scenarios, identify gaps and assess the organisation’s readiness to proceed with UAT.
The effectiveness of UAT depends heavily on the quality and completeness of the business scenarios being tested. Furniture Village needed to address several important challenges:
Without structured validation, gaps in scenario design could have resulted in incomplete testing, delayed defect resolution and additional pressure on the implementation timeline.
C2S applied a structured business-process validation and UAT readiness methodology.
C2S conducted discovery workshops with business and technology stakeholders to understand the programme scope, operational priorities, Service Architecture and expected business outcomes.
Existing DITL scenarios were reviewed to determine whether they accurately represented day-to-day business activities, user journeys, process variations and cross-functional dependencies.
Collaborative validation sessions were held with process owners and subject-matter experts across O2C, P2P and R2R. These sessions helped confirm process accuracy, clarify assumptions and establish shared ownership of the scenarios.
C2S identified missing process steps, incomplete scenarios, control gaps and areas where additional test coverage was required. Findings were documented and prioritised for resolution before UAT.
A structured traceability review connected business requirements and Service Architecture components with the relevant processes and UAT scenarios. This provided greater visibility into what was being tested and where coverage gaps remained.
C2S assessed the organisation’s overall readiness to begin UAT, covering scenario completeness, stakeholder alignment, documentation quality, process coverage, outstanding gaps and governance requirements.
The findings, recommendations and readiness status were presented to key stakeholders. Formal review and sign-off helped create a clear and accountable basis for progressing into UAT.
C2S produced a comprehensive set of UAT readiness and governance deliverables:
The engagement gave Furniture Village a clearer and more reliable foundation for executing User Acceptance Testing.
Key outcomes included:
By validating business scenarios before testing began, Furniture Village was better positioned to use UAT as a meaningful confirmation of operational readiness—not simply as a system-testing exercise.
